Highlights of Objectives Achieved 2008-2011 and Prospective Achievements That Will Be Fulfilled 2011-2013

1. Increase the number of churches and members reached through commitment/trust services days and weekends.

  • The commitment department's speaking calendar for 2011 remains full. We are currently scheduling commitment days, weekends, and commitment Weeks of Prayer into 2012.

2. Meet specific needs the pastors may have in the area of commitment/stewardship, including enhancing church budget, training and educating members, plus assistance in capital fund-raising endeavors.

  • The department has successfully conducted Financial Counselor Training Workshops for English- and Spanish-speaking churches as well as a Personal Financial Mortgage Consultation Workshop relating to the areas currently affecting our church members within the Southeastern California Conference. The interest and attendance have been exceptional.

3. Work with church pastors, treasurers, boards and financial committees for the purpose of evaluating their giving patterns and, when necessary, help them develop a financial plan and/or a combined budget.

  • We continue to meet regularly with pastors, church boards and building committees to assist them in meeting their financial needs as stated above, which includes helping churches prepare for, and work through, a remodel or new construction project.
